Security and Network Architect

We have been exclusively retained to identify a Security and Network Architect for a leading organisation in Adelaide North. This is a short-term contract with the possibility of becoming a permanent position. The role is responsible for developing secure network architectures, implementing security frameworks, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. It will work closely with internal teams and managed service providers to protect the organisation’s systems and data.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the organisation’s cyber security programme to address current and emerging threats
• Design and maintain security and network architecture frameworks
• Create secure network topologies including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls and cloud solutions
• Conduct risk assessments and threat modelling to identify vulnerabilities
• Recommend and oversee implementation of mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with Essential 8 Level 2, NIST and other relevant standards
• Coordinate cyber incident response planning and participate in investigations
• Monitor emerging technologies and best practice in security and networking

Requirements:

• Proven experience in cyber security management and network architecture
• Hands-on expertise with LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, cloud networking, IDS/IPS, SD-WAN and SIEM
• Experience conducting risk assessments and threat modelling
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks including Essential 8 Level 2 and NIST
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, with vendor security certifications preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
