Delivery Lead - PM

Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager Delivery Lead to join a newly established directorate within a large, influential public sector organisation in Brisbane. This pivotal role will see you at the heart of a two-year transformation program, driving improvements in data quality, business processes, and reporting products.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Build strong working relationships with business stakeholders to ensure priorities are clearly understood, agreed upon, and successfully delivered within each three-month program increment.

* Facilitate quarterly planning sessions as well as review and reset cycles to maintain visibility of progress and alignment with evolving business needs.

* Enable your team to determine optimal approaches for delivering backlog items by balancing speed, quality standards, and stakeholder requirements.

* Share information proactively with key stakeholders including corporate ICT teams to ensure all products align with broader enterprise directions and strategic plans.

* Oversee the technical delivery of products using a diverse technology stack such as MS Fabric, MS Purview, SQL, PowerBI, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, and Microsoft Office suite.

* Support your team—which includes specialists in PowerBI and Business Analysis—by facilitating Agile ceremonies and fostering an environment of open communication and collaboration.

* Address workflow or process issues that may impact business outcomes by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions alongside your team.

* Ensure seamless transition of developed products into Business-As-Usual operations by negotiating support agreements and preparing comprehensive documentation and knowledge base articles.

* Collaborate closely with program resources such as Organisational Change Managers, Project Support Officers, and Program Managers to deliver integrated solutions across workstreams.

The Ideal candidate

* Substantial experience (5+ years) in similar leadership roles within complex organisations—experience within Queensland Government is highly regarded.

* Technical expertise aligned with technologies such as MS Fabric, MS Purview, SQL databases, PowerBI dashboards/reporting tools, SharePoint platforms, ServiceNow ticketing systems, Jira project management software, and Microsoft Office suite.

* Demonstrated ability to express complex ideas clearly in plain English, both written and verbally and through accurate documentation with written communication skills assessed via your statement of suitability.

* Proven experience applying Agile methodologies in project environments (essential), with Scrum Master certification considered desirable for this position.

* A constructive mindset that thrives in maturing or evolving environments where adaptability is essential for navigating change and complexity.

* Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to build productive relationships across multidisciplinary teams while communicating effectively with non-technical audiences.

* A growth mindset combined with problem-solving abilities that allow you to address challenges collaboratively while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

* Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning sessions or retrospectives within technical delivery teams is highly valued.

* Ability to negotiate support/maintenance agreements for transitioning products into Business-As-Usual operations while preparing thorough documentation.
