Endpoint Engineer
A leading managed service provider with a global presence is seeking a Senior Endpoint Engineer to join their Sydney-based team. What you'll do:
As a Senior Endpoint Engineer based in Sydney, you will be at the forefront of delivering robust endpoint management solutions that empower clients to operate securely and efficiently in modern digital environments. Your daily responsibilities will involve architecting advanced configurations using Intune and SCCM and managing deployments across Windows 10/11 devices.
- Design and implement enterprise-level Modern Workplace solutions utilising Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Autopilot, and Windows 365 to meet diverse client requirements.
- Provide third-line support for escalated endpoint issues from junior engineers, ensuring timely resolution of complex technical problems across multiple platforms including Windows, Linux, iOS, macOS, and Android.
- Consult with clients during pre-sales engagements to understand business needs and deliver tailored endpoint management strategies that align with organisational goals.
- Lead technical tasks on key projects by providing guidance on best practices for deployment, configuration management, patching, application packaging, and policy enforcement.
- Mentor junior staff by sharing knowledge, offering technical guidance, and supporting their professional development through regular feedback and training sessions.
- Collaborate closely with Level 2 and Level 3 support teams to ensure swift problem resolution while maintaining comprehensive documentation of troubleshooting steps and solutions.
- Contribute actively to the knowledge base by creating detailed articles and guides for common issues as well as updating existing resources based on new learnings or process improvements.
- Participate in incident response activities for critical systems by triaging issues quickly, restoring services efficiently, documenting actions taken, and assisting with root cause analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, solutions provided, user interactions, timesheets, project tickets closed, wikis created or updated as part of performance KPIs.
- Stay current with industry trends by participating in training sessions on new technologies such as ConnectWise PSA or LogicMonitor while continuously suggesting process enhancements.
What you bring:
To excel as a Senior Endpoint Engineer in this environment you will bring extensive experience architecting endpoint management solutions using Microsoft technologies within large-scale enterprises.
- Minimum five years’ hands-on experience deploying and managing Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune in enterprise settings is essential for success in this position.
- Proven track record implementing Modern Workplace environments leveraging Autopilot, Windows 365 Cloud PC solutions, Active Directory integration (on-premises/Azure AD), Conditional Access policies, authentication methods, and advanced identity management techniques.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting abilities enabling automation of complex administrative tasks as well as maintenance of custom scripts/functions for endpoint management workflows.
- Comprehensive understanding of desktop Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11), servicing models, application packaging processes/tools for Intune/SCCM deployment scenarios.
- Experience administering security frameworks/best practices - familiarity with products like Defender for Endpoint - and compliance standards.
