Financial Accountant

This Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and audit readiness across multiple group entities, working closely with experienced professionals. What you'll do:

• Assist with the coordination and delivery of external audits by compiling documentation and acting as a key contact for auditors throughout the process.
• Support the preparation and issuance of local statutory financial statements in strict accordance with relevant accounting standards for multiple group entities.
• Prepare technical accounting position papers for complex or non-routine transactions such as revenue recognition, asset acquisitions, financial instruments, hedge accounting, and intercompany arrangements.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of internal accounting policies and procedures, ensuring they align with current accounting standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with various departments to implement consistent financial practices across all entities while supporting ongoing improvements in internal controls and governance.
• Participate actively in monthly reporting cycles including consolidation reporting for shareholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at every stage.
• Work closely with colleagues across finance and operations to ensure seamless information flow and effective problem-solving when addressing financial queries or challenges.
• Analyse large volumes of data using advanced Excel skills to present clear, actionable insights for management decision-making.
• Utilise SAP ERP systems effectively for transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting requirements within the finance function.
• Support the set-up or enhancement of accounting procedures and systems as the company continues its ambitious growth agenda.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance is required; a Master’s Degree would be considered advantageous for this position.
• Professional qualification in accounting (such as CA or CPA) is essential for demonstrating your technical proficiency.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in an accounting-related field along with 3+ years specifically as a senior financial accountant are necessary for success.
• Experience within the energy sector—particularly electricity generation or retail—will be viewed favourably but is not mandatory.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP systems is important for managing transactional processes efficiently within this role.
• Exceptional attention to detail enables you to deliver high-quality work even when handling complex or high-volume tasks under tight deadlines.
• Well-developed Excel skills allow you to analyse substantial datasets effectively and present information clearly for stakeholders at all levels.
• A high degree of self-motivation combined with a willingness to take ownership of tasks ensures you consistently meet expectations without close supervision.
• Excellent communication abilities help you convey complex information succinctly while building positive relationships across teams and cultures.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a growing company environment where setting up or improving accounting procedures is part of daily responsibilities.
