Senior Accountant

This role offers the opportunity to manage financial records, drive process improvements, and support key business decisions while reporting to the Financial Controller. You will prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring compliance with laws and standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate month end processes by managing timelines, communicating requirements, and ensuring all stakeholders are informed throughout each cycle
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports that meet both internal standards and external regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within financial systems
• Collaborate with colleagues across the business to identify areas for improvement in month end processes and implement changes that enhance efficiency
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory obligations by maintaining knowledge of relevant laws and policies
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
• Monitor performance against financial and commercial objectives to provide insights that support decision making at all levels of the organisation
• Manage the general ledger including sub-ledger reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy in all entries and schedules
• Coordinate monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries while maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare and lodge BAS and FBT returns

What you bring:

• CA / CPA or working towards completion
• Proven experience (3+ years) in Big 4 or Mid-Tier environment
• Strong proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
• Experience working calmly under pressure is vital for managing competing priorities
• Proactive approach combined with self-motivation ensures that you use initiative effectively while contributing actively towards team goals
• Clear communication skills that enable you to explain complex matters simply so both financial/non-financial stakeholders understand your recommendations
