Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a globally operating organisation within the critical minerals sector. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this broad role will oversee financial and management accounting functions across international operations while leading a small finance team.

Our client is a globally recognised organisation operating across Australia, the United States and Japan within the critical minerals and advanced manufacturing sector. Supplying materials used across the electronics, aerospace, medical and emerging green energy industries, the business continues to grow its international footprint and operations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to join the finance team based in Perth.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this broad and hands-on role will oversee both financial and management accounting functions across multiple international entities. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making and managing a small finance team.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Financial Controller or Senior Financial Accountant with strong exposure to both financial accounting and management accounting responsibilities, particularly within an audited IFRS reporting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and consolidation of monthly group financial reports across Australia, the US and Japan
• Production of annual IFRS-compliant financial statements and management of year-end audit processes
• Preparation of budgets, forecasts and management reports
• Weekly cash flow forecasting and treasury support
• Oversight and review of BAS, FBT, tax and quarterly royalty returns
• Management and mentoring of a small finance team
• Supporting continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting and internal controls
• Partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business

About You

• CA or CPA qualified
• Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar Financial Controller, Senior Financial Accountant or Finance Manager role
• Strong experience producing IFRS financial statements within an audited environment
• Exposure to both financial and management accounting functions
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting capability
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable Experience

• Mining, resources, manufacturing or mineral processing industry exposure
• Experience within multinational or multi-entity group structures
• ERP systems experience
