Senior Finance Business Partner
A large and complex organisation is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to play a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making, driving financial performance, and improving business outcomes across multiple operational divisions.
This is a highly visible role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who thrives on partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes through insight and analysis.
The Opportunity
Reporting into a senior finance function, you will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing high-quality financial analysis, modelling, and strategic insight to support major projects, initiatives, and operational performance.
You will work across a diverse portfolio, supporting both day-to-day financial management and long-term planning and capital investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities

Partner with Directors and senior stakeholders to support, challenge, and influence strategic and operational decision-making

Provide advanced financial analysis and develop robust financial models to assess risks, opportunities, and project viability

Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is delivered

Deliver insightful reporting, linking financial performance to business strategy and providing clear commentary

Support major projects, tenders, and business cases with commercial and financial insights

Facilitate cross-functional initiatives including benchmarking, risk management, and performance improvement programs

Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, reporting, and business performance

Develop dashboards, tools, and reporting frameworks to enhance visibility and decision-making

Provide oversight of capital works performance, including reporting, cash flow forecasting, and long-term planning

Ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory financial reporting requirements
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in Finance Business Partnering within a complex organisation
- Strong financial modelling, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and capital expenditure (CapEx)
- Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Highly desirable:
- Experience within government, infrastructure, or large matrix organisations
- Exposure to capital works planning and long-term financial forecasting
- Experience driving process improvement and performance optimisation
