Accountant - (NPO)

Robert Walters is proud to partner with a well-established NPO organisation seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. This opportunity is ideal for a qualified Accountant with prior Not-for-Profit experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment supporting strong governance, reporting, and financial operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, this position will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting compliance obligations, and contributing to ongoing process and system improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of financial and management reporting
• Month-end accounting including reconciliations, journals, and reporting support
• Accounts payable and receivable oversight
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Supporting audit, compliance, and governance requirements
• Identifying process improvement opportunities across finance operations
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to support organisational objectives

About You

You will be a qualified Accountant (CPA/CA or equivalent) with previous experience working within the Not-for-Profit sector.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• 2–3+ years’ experience within Not-for-Profit organisations
• Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and reporting environments
• Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability
• High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
• A proactive mindset with genuine interest in working within a values-driven organisation
• Exposure to disability, aged care, or NDIS funding environments will be highly regarded
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central is advantageous
