Assistant accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team in a permanent full-time position based south of the river in Perth.Reporting into the Finance Manager, this role offers exposure across financial operations, reporting, budgeting support and process improvement within a collaborative and values-driven environment.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their accounting career.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare journals and support month-end activities
• Assist with monthly reporting and financial analysis
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Monitor financial performance and investigate variances
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Contribute to improvements across finance processes and systems

About You

• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Business
• Minimum 2 years’ accounting or finance experience within Australia
• Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar position
• Strong Excel capability and exposure to accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
