Payroll Analytics Consultant / Specialist

Join a leading financial services company as a Payroll Analytics Consultant. In this 6-month contract role, you’ll analyse payroll data across legacy and current systems, ensure compliance, and support remediation efforts. Utilise your expertise in payroll operations, awards interpretation, and advanced Excel skills to identify discrepancies and drive solutions. This national role offers work from any city in Australia, with an ASAP start and competitive daily rates.

Core Responsibilities

• Extract, cleanse, and reconcile payroll data from both legacy and current systems (TechOne and SuccessFactors)
• Conduct deep data analysis to identify isolated and systemic pay variances
• Interpret awards, enterprise agreements, and payroll rules to support remediation activity
• Prepare reports, BI dashboards, recommendations, and remediation documentation
• Collaborate with internal payroll/HR stakeholders and external vendors while maintaining confidentiality
• Support rapid delivery of investigative workstreams under tight deadlines

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong payroll operations knowledge, including pay runs, payroll rules, and awards interpretation
• Demonstrated experience in payroll investigations, remediation, or payroll audit environments
• Advanced Excel capability (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliation, data mining)
• BI/reporting experience highly desirable (Power BI / Tableau)
• Experience with SuccessFactors and/or TechOne highly advantageous
• Strong data extraction, validation, and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and work across cross-functional teams
