Payroll Officer

We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join a high-performing team in a large organisation based in Perth (Joondalup). This role focuses on high-volume payroll processing and handling routine employee enquiries, making it ideal for candidates with payroll, finance administration, or strong data processing experience looking to grow their career.

About the Role

This is a fast-paced Payroll Officer position within a structured People & Culture team. You will focus on processing a high volume of payroll transactions and responding to employee queries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of payroll transactions accurately and on time
• Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and managers
• Maintain and update payroll data within internal systems
• Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation, policies, and procedures
• Support payroll processing activities including adjustments, leave, and allowances
• Assist with data checks and reconciliations
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HR and Finance
• Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes

About You

• Experience in payroll, finance administration, or high-volume data entry
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage repetitive, high-volume workloads
• Good communication skills and customer service mindset
• Experience with payroll or HR systems (e.g. Ascender or similar) is advantageous
• Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines
