Payroll Officer

Summary A Payroll Officer is required to manage end-to-end payroll processing within a complex and regulated environment. The role will focus on accurate payroll delivery, compliance, and handling complex calculations including redundancies, leave entitlements, and remediation activities.

The Role

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for delivering accurate and compliant payroll services across a large employee base. The role requires strong experience with SAP SuccessFactors and the ability to manage complex payroll scenarios including redundancy payments, long service leave, and historical leave remediation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly cycle
  • Maintain and update employee payroll data within SAP SuccessFactors
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all payments
  • Calculate redundancy payments and final terminations
  • Manage long service leave calculations and other leave entitlements
  • Support leave remediation exercises, including back pay calculations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and policies
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
  • Assist with audit requirements, reporting, and process improvements

Key Requirements

Experience

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll within large or complex environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • redundancy and termination calculations
    • long service leave calculations
    • leave remediation / back-pay adjustments

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage high-volume payroll under deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
  • Effective communication skills

Technical

  • SAP SuccessFactors (essential)
  • Strong Excel skills
