Payroll Manager/Specialist (6-Month Contract)

Are you an experienced Payroll Manager/Specialist looking for your next challenge? We’re seeking a skilled professional to take the reins of our payroll operations during a transitional period. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact, lead a small team, and ensure smooth day-to-day payroll processes for our workforce of approximately 300 employees.

About the Role:

As the Payroll Manager/Specialist, you will oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You’ll be responsible for managing two direct reports (Payroll Officers) while leveraging your expertise in Chris21 to deliver seamless payroll services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 300 employees.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and company policies.
  • Lead and mentor two Payroll Officers to achieve operational excellence.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide accurate reporting and insights.
  • Support the transition process as the payroll function moves toward outsourcing.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll processes for medium-sized organisations.
  • Proficiency in Chris21 payroll software (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring staff.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment during a transitional phase.
