Payroll Specialist

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for flexibility and ownership? Join a national retail business and manage the end to end payroll function for 200+ employees. You'll be responsible for payroll processing, compliance, reporting and stakeholder support while driving process improvements. The Opportunity

Joining a supportive and collaborative team, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll accuracy, managing employee queries, driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end to end payroll function for 200+ employees
• Process weekly, fortnightly and/or monthly payroll cycles accurately and on time
• Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity
• Interpret awards, enterprise agreements and relevant legislation
• Manage payroll compliance, including superannuation, PAYG and leave entitlements
• Prepare payroll reporting and reconciliation activities
• Respond to payroll related queries from employees and stakeholders
• Coordinate on-boarding, off-boarding and payroll adjustments
• Liaise with Finance and HR to ensure seamless payroll operations
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies
• Support audits and compliance reporting requirements

About You

• Proven experience managing end to end payroll
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience interpreting awards and employment conditions
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
• Retail, FMCG or multi site payroll experience will be highly regarded
