Credit Analyst
As a Credit Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating credit applications, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting both customers and internal teams throughout the lending process. - Assess credit applications thoroughly in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and established company credit policies, ensuring all decisions are well-documented and compliant.
- Process loans efficiently to meet contract deadlines, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail at every stage of the application lifecycle.
- Liaise professionally with staff members, brokers, mortgage managers, originators, agencies, third-party suppliers, and applicants from initial acceptance through to settlement.
- Communicate credit decisions clearly to all relevant parties, ensuring transparency around requirements and outcomes so that everyone involved understands the rationale behind each decision.
- Support colleagues within the Credit department by assisting processors and underwriters as needed, fostering a cooperative team environment.
- Maintain an unwavering focus on enhancing customer service skills and industry knowledge to deliver exceptional experiences for clients and community partners.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI), including eligibility criteria for key providers, to ensure accurate risk assessment.
- Apply commercial acumen when assessing credit situations that fall outside standard policy criteria by making informed recommendations to Delegated Lending Authority holders.
- Follow up on loan enquiries promptly throughout the application process, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of satisfaction among all stakeholders.
- Consistently embody company values while striving to achieve annual performance goals set out during regular evaluations.

- Proven experience of at least three years in a credit assessment role within the financial services sector or similar environment is essential for success in this position.
- Current or previous holder of Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) for mortgage loans demonstrates your capability in making responsible lending decisions.
- Possession of Certificate IV in Credit Management or Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking is required to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of the mortgage market landscape as well as broader financial services industry trends enables you to make informed assessments.
- Experience working within a Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) is highly desirable due to the unique challenges presented by this sector.
- Familiarity with Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) lending practices adds value when dealing with specialised client needs.
- Ability to assess self-employed income streams accurately ensures robust evaluation of complex applications.
- Knowledge of complex trust structures is advantageous for handling intricate lending scenarios involving multiple entities or beneficiaries.
- Exposure to construction lending processes—including interpreting Quantity Surveyor (QS) reports—will be beneficial for certain types of loan applications.
- Exceptional communication skills paired with strong attention to detail enable you to explain decisions clearly while maintaining precise documentation.
