Fraud and Scams Officer - Day Shift
A leading financial institution is seeking a dedicated Fraud & Scams Officer to join their team in Parramatta. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact by protecting customers from fraudulent and scam activity. * Pay: $45 per hour + Super + Overtime Rates * Location: Parramatta * Contract: 12 months, with permanent and extension opportunities available * Eligibility: Must have full Australian working rights
About the Role:
This is a call centre-based position requiring you to handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, as well as online live chats. You will support customers who may be experiencing distress due to suspected fraud or scam activity, so strong communication skills and emotional intelligence are essential.
Working Hours:
Shifts will generally be between 8:00am – 8:00pm, however when required, hours may extend between 7:00am – 9:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers via phone and live chat to identify potential fraud or scam activity with empathy and professionalism
- Handle a large volume of calls in a fast-paced call centre environment
- Monitor and respond to customer queries with sensitivity and care
- Use critical thinking to detect red flags and suspicious behaviour
- Manage sensitive processes with discretion, following strict protocols
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions and actions
- Contribute to a positive team culture through collaboration and support
You will complete a structured 4-week training programme (Monday to Friday, standard business hours) to build your expertise in fraud detection. WFH flexibility may be available once you are fully trained and performing in the role.
