Purpose of the Role The Career Transition Consultant supports TfNSW employees and managers during organisational change by managing redeployment, voluntary redundancy, and excess employee processes. The role ensures compliance with policy, effective matching of employees to suitable roles, and professional support to staff impacted by change.

💼 Transport Grade 7
📅 Contract until 30 June 2026 Start ASAP
💰 $500–$650 per day + super
⏱ 40 hours per week (no overtime)
🖥 Systems: Excel, SuccessFactors, Microsoft Suite
We’re seeking experienced Career Transition Consultants to support employees and leaders through organisational change. This role plays a key part in managing redeployment, voluntary redundancy, and excess employee processes, ensuring staff receive professional, compliant, and compassionate support during transition.
🔎 About the Role
As a Career Transition Consultant, you’ll guide impacted employees through redeployment and transition pathways, provide expert advice to managers, and ensure all processes align with policy and legislative requirements. You’ll also support capability uplift through coaching, training, and skills‑based assessments.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist advice and hands‑on support to employees and managers during redeployment and redundancy
- Coordinate redeployment, transition, and voluntary redundancy activities in line with policy and legislation
- Conduct skills assessments and identify suitable internal/external role matches
- Deliver or coordinate training (CV writing, interview preparation, job search support)
- Facilitate briefings and training sessions on transition and redeployment processes
- Manage relationships with external providers to ensure quality and compliance
- Track and report on transition activities, data, and compliance requirements
- Review processes and recommend improvements based on outcomes and feedback
🎯 Skills & Experience
- Strong background in career transition, redeployment, workforce change, or talent acquisition/recruitment
- Experience in HR, recruitment, or people operations within large or complex organisations
- Ability to work sensitively with impacted employees and senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail, compliance, and data accuracy
🌟 Ideal Candidate
- Experienced in supporting employees through organisational change, redundancy, or redeployment
- Confident engaging with senior leaders, HR teams, and external service providers
- Professional, discreet, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
- Public sector experience is highly regarded but not essential
