Procurement & Contracts Officer
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Procurement & Contracts Officer to join a Government Department on an initial contract. Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you will play a key role in managing a substantial portfolio of service contracts while providing expert procurement and contract management support.
This position is responsible for the end-to-end management of procurement and contract activities, ensuring contractors meet performance, compliance and service delivery expectations. You will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders, providing advice, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities outlined in the position description include managing procurement processes, contractor performance, compliance frameworks, contract reviews, stakeholder engagement and financial oversight of service agreements.
Your duties will include:
- Handle the end-to-end procurement and contract management
- Managing a large portfolio of cleaning service contracts
- Complaint management, triage and assessment
- Monitoring contractor performance, compliance and service delivery
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across schools, contractors and internal teams
- Supporting continuous improvement and value-for-money outcomes
Essential in this role:
- Previous procurement and/or contract management experience
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience managing contractor performance and resolving issues
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Government experience is desirable but not essential
Key Requirements:
- Must hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Must hold a current National Police Check
- Full Australian working rights
