Training and People Coordinator
A leading agribusiness is seeking a People and Training Coordinator to join their Brisbane-based team, supporting a diverse workforce across Australia and Indonesia. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact in a company that places the welfare of its people, animals, and environment at the heart of everything it does. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive safety culture, supporting organisational growth, and ensuring that every team member feels valued and empowered. With a strong commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and employee well-being, this organisation offers you the chance to contribute to innovative projects in emissions reduction, biodiversity, and sustainable energy production. If you are passionate about HR, training, and making a difference within a supportive and forward-thinking environment, this role will provide you with both challenge and reward. * Join a respected agribusiness with a strong focus on environmental stewardship, community values, and the well-being of its people—your work will directly support these core principles. * Enjoy flexible working opportunities in a collaborative team where your interpersonal skills and attention to detail will be highly valued as you help drive positive change across multiple business streams. * Benefit from ongoing training opportunities and the chance to be part of strategic initiatives that shape the future of agriculture, natural capital management, and sustainable energy development.
What you'll do:
As a People and Training Coordinator, you will be instrumental in supporting both human resources functions and comprehensive training initiatives across the organisation’s operations. Your daily activities will involve close collaboration with managers at various levels to maintain accurate HR records, coordinate recruitment processes efficiently, update essential policy documents, and ensure compliance with internal standards. You will also take ownership of managing induction materials for new starters, tracking employee development through detailed registers, organising logistics for training events, and digitising learning content for broader accessibility. By presenting key HR components during induction weeks and handling sensitive data with discretion, you will help create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels supported. Your ability to juggle administrative responsibilities alongside proactive communication with colleagues will be crucial in driving high standards of safety culture and performance throughout the business.
- Assist with all aspects of the recruitment process by following up on required documentation and information from candidates to ensure smooth onboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HRMS system by updating vaccination status, employee numbers, terminations, policy documents, and controlled documents as needed.
- Monitor policy and procedure logs to ensure review dates are met and signature requirements are fulfilled for compliance purposes.
- Support the review and update of staff induction manuals and station handbooks so that new starters receive current information relevant to their roles.
- Record individual contracts of agreement in the training register and HRMS while producing annual training statements for all employees to track progress.
- Set up police checks for recruitment processes and manage general administration tasks such as mailing, packaging, printing, or binding manuals and policies as required.
- Enter training data including costs into registers accurately while maintaining an up-to-date training calendar for all staff development activities.
- Present the HR component during station induction weeks to ensure new employees understand key policies, procedures, and expectations from day one.
- Organise travel arrangements for employees attending training sessions to facilitate seamless participation in professional development programmes.
- Convert existing training manuals into online modules using digital tools so that learning resources are accessible to all staff regardless of location.
What you bring:
In this People and Training Coordinator position, your proven experience in human resources administration combined with your passion for supporting others will set you apart. You bring not only technical proficiency in office software but also an innate ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds—ensuring everyone feels included and heard. Your background may include time spent in agribusiness or another sector where teamwork is essential; what matters most is your reliability when handling confidential data and your willingness to embrace new challenges as they arise. You thrive on being organised yet flexible enough to respond quickly when priorities shift. Your communication style is warm yet professional—whether presenting at induction sessions or collaborating on policy reviews—and your commitment to ethical practice ensures trust among colleagues. Above all else, your dedication helps foster an environment where continuous improvement is encouraged for both individuals’ growth and organisational success.
- Demonstrated attention to detail when managing confidential HR records or entering data into systems such as Microsoft Excel or other Office Suite products.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; confidence in learning new digital platforms as required for HR or training purposes.
- Experience working within an agribusiness or similar environment where understanding rural operations adds value (preferred but not essential).
- A qualification in Human Resources or related field is desirable but not mandatory if you have equivalent practical experience supporting HR functions.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with colleagues at all levels by demonstrating empathy, active listening skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Strong organisational skills enabling you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards by maintaining confidentiality around sensitive information related to WHS/HR matters at all times.
- Capacity to adapt positively to changing circumstances or new initiatives while showing respect for cultural diversity within teams spread across different locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills allowing you to present information clearly during inductions or when liaising with stakeholders about policy updates.
