APS3 Transcription Officer (multiple roles)

About the role: As an APS3 Transcription Officer, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely transcripts of court proceedings from audio and video recordings. Reporting to the Transcription Officer, you will utilise templates and transcription tools to produce high-quality outputs that meet strict court standards. This opportunity is fully remote, however, the onboarding process is in person (in Brisbane).

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately transcribe audio, video and live recordings, applying sound judgement and escalating complex issues when necessary.
• Review and edit transcripts to ensure they are complete, accurate and compliant with court standards.
• Manage recordings and transcripts in line with records legislation, security protocols and organisational policies.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet publication deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities or workloads.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to transcribe accurately and document observations/procedures.
• Typing speed of at least 70 words per minute (wpm) with proficiency in MS Word and other relevant digital tools.
• Excellent organisational skills and time management abilities to handle competing deadlines effectively.
• Previous experience in legal, court or tribunal environments or prior work in audio transcription/dictation roles (desirable, not a requirement)

• Eligibility: Australian citizenship required (mandatory)
• Checks: Must successfully pass a current Police Check
• Testing: Candidates will be required to complete typing speed/accuracy testing
