What you'll do:

As Legal Counsel, you will play an integral role in supporting the organisation’s legal operations by offering expert advice on a variety of matters spanning corporate governance, major projects, procurement processes, intellectual property rights, and more. You will:

  • Provide comprehensive guidance on legal and commercial matters within the organisation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise a broad spectrum of legal documents, briefs and internal reports.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver timely legal advice on issues related to Australian Consumer Law and other regulatory requirements.
  • Providing support to the General Counsel and Management Team in identifying, assessing, and managing corporate risk across all business units.
  • Contribute to the periodic review and amendment of company policies in line with evolving legislative requirements.

What you bring:

To excel as Legal Counsel in this role, your background should reflect substantial experience within either private practice or an established in-house setting where you have managed complex legal issues across multiple disciplines.

  • 5+ years post-admission experience gained within a reputable law firm or in-house legal department is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate law and compliance matters such as Australian Consumer Law.
  • Proven ability to prepare, review, manage, and advise on a wide range of legal documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills allow you to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the business as well as external partners or advisors.
  • A high level of initiative enables you to operate independently while producing consistently accurate work under tight deadlines or changing priorities.
  • Experience delivering training or sharing knowledge about contract management or compliance topics would be advantageous but not mandatory.

What sets this company apart:
