About the Role
As a Banking and Finance Senior Associate based in Sydney, you will play a pivotal role in advising clients on intricate financial transactions.
- Provide expert legal advice on complex banking and finance transactions, ensuring all client needs are met with precision and care.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of financial agreements including loan documents, security instruments, and facility agreements.
- Collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to deliver seamless service across multiple projects.
- Support junior lawyers through mentoring and knowledge sharing, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Conduct thorough legal research to stay abreast of regulatory changes affecting banking and finance law.
- Manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist in business development activities by preparing pitches, attending client meetings, and contributing to thought leadership initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations at every stage of the transaction process.
- Participate actively in training sessions to enhance your own skills while supporting the growth of others within the team.
About you
- 5+ years post admission experience advising on banking and finance matters within a reputable legal practice or corporate environment.
- Exceptional drafting skills with proven ability to prepare clear, concise financial agreements tailored to client requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to build trust-based relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Demonstrated commitment to collaborative teamwork through mentoring junior staff members and sharing knowledge generously.
- Up-to-date understanding of relevant banking regulations, compliance requirements, and industry trends impacting financial transactions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining high levels of accuracy under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills allowing you to oversee multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
