Bid Manager / Lead Estimator

Growing engineering and construction business seeking an experienced Bid Manager / Senior Estimator to play a key role in driving project growth across WA. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and wants to take ownership of the full tender lifecycle while helping shape future capability and contribute to the long-term growth of the business.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of the end-to-end bidding and estimating function, working closely with leadership, operations, and business development teams to secure new project work across a diverse portfolio.

This role offers the opportunity to:

• Lead and manage complex tenders across mining and industrial projects
• Influence bid strategy and contribute to business growth
• Work across a broad range of scopes (SMP, structural steel, construction, non-process infrastructure)
• Play a key role in building and developing a future estimating function

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and submission of tenders from initial enquiry through to client presentation
• Develop detailed cost estimates using first principles methodologies
• Create construction methodologies and pricing strategies aligned to project delivery
• Engage with internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, and leadership
• Support commercial negotiations and client engagement throughout the bid process
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
• Contribute to the development of systems, processes, and future team capability

About You

You will be a commercially astute and technically strong professional who understands how projects are delivered—not just priced.

Key experience includes:

• Proven experience in bid management / estimating within mining, construction, or industrial sectors
• Strong background in SMP, structural steel, or construction projects
• Ability to build estimates from first principles (not just take-offs)
• Solid understanding of project delivery methodologies and constructability
• Strong commercial acumen and client-facing capability
• Ability to operate autonomously and “roll up your sleeves” in a lean environment
• Experience presenting bids to internal stakeholders and clients
