Quality, Risk & Compliance Coordinator (3-5 months)

Save job

A leading organisation dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of South Australians is seeking a Quality, Risk and Compliance Coordinator for a temporary contract of 3–5 months, with potential for extension. This full-time role (part-time negotiable) offers you the opportunity to step into an established program and play a pivotal part in maintaining high standards across quality assurance, risk management, and compliance activities. You will be joining a supportive team environment where your organisational skills and attention to detail will be highly valued. The workplace promotes healthy lifestyle practices and offers flexible working arrangements to suit your needs. If you are passionate about contributing to meaningful work that supports community well-being, this is your chance to make a difference.

What you'll do:

As the Quality, Risk and Compliance Coordinator you will play an essential role in ensuring continuity of key programs during this interim period. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with various teams to embed quality assurance practices into everyday operations. You will coordinate training initiatives that build staff capability in quality, risk awareness, and compliance. By administering systems aligned with industry standards, you will help drive continuous improvement across the organisation. Your meticulous approach will be crucial as you prepare documentation for committees and senior leaders. Maintaining risk registers and frameworks will require you to engage regularly with risk owners, guiding them through assessment processes while keeping treatment plans current. You will monitor compliance activities diligently, manage audits effectively, oversee policy cycles proactively, and ensure all controlled documents are accurate and accessible.

  • Support and promote a culture of quality, risk awareness and compliance throughout the organisation by engaging constructively with teams across all departments.
  • Coordinate and deliver quality, risk and compliance training sessions for staff members, ensuring records and schedules are maintained accurately.
  • Administer the quality management system in alignment with organisational objectives and industry standards, tracking continuous improvement actions through to completion.
  • Provide secretariat support to the Quality Management Committee by preparing agendas, papers, minutes, and tracking workplans efficiently.
  • Prepare comprehensive quality management reports for senior leadership teams including the General Manager Finance & Governance, Executive Committee, and Board as required.
  • Maintain the risk management framework and registers by supporting risk owners in identifying, assessing, treating, and monitoring operational and strategic risks.
  • Coordinate scheduled risk reviews by following up with risk owners to keep assessments current and treatment plans updated.
  • Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; escalate issues promptly to senior management when necessary.
  • Manage audits against internal standards and external regulatory requirements; track findings and corrective actions through to completion.
  • Oversee the policy review cycle by prompting policy owners ahead of due dates, assisting them in drafting or updating controlled documents, maintaining version control, and ensuring accessibility.

What you bring:

To excel as a Quality, Risk and Compliance Coordinator you will bring proven experience from similar roles where you have managed complex review cycles efficiently. Your background may include formal qualifications or substantial practical expertise in business administration or related disciplines. You possess deep understanding of quality assurance principles alongside familiarity with recognised frameworks such as AS ISO 31000:2018. Your ability to interpret statutory requirements ensures ongoing legal compliance within organisational operations. Interpersonal strengths allow you to connect easily with colleagues at all levels, fostering co-operation between departments while supporting policy owners through document updates or audit processes. Organisational prowess enables you to juggle multiple priorities without compromising accuracy or timeliness. Advanced computer skills mean you can confidently navigate databases/registers/document management systems, ensuring all records are meticulously maintained. Experience delivering training further enhances your value as you help build collective capability around quality/risk/compliance topics. Written communication excellence is evident in your ability to produce clear reports/papers/minutes that inform decision-making at senior levels.

  • Qualification in business administration, quality assurance, risk management or compliance—or equivalent practical experience gained through relevant roles.
  • Demonstrated experience stepping into established quality, risk or compliance functions quickly with minimal supervision required.
  • Sound knowledge of principles underpinning quality assurance, continuous improvement methodologies, risk management frameworks (such as AS ISO 31000:2018), and compliance practices.
  • Working familiarity with statutory requirements including regulatory legislation relevant to organisational operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build effective relationships at all levels, including policy owners, risk managers, executive leaders, and engage collaboratively across teams.
  • Outstanding organisational abilities demonstrated by managing recurring review cycles efficiently while prioritising competing tasks under tight reporting deadlines.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word and Excel), confidence using registers/databases/document management or CRM systems.
  • Experience maintaining registers or controlled documents with rigorous accuracy in version control procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate or deliver training sessions aimed at building staff capability in areas of quality assurance or compliance.
  • Exceptional written communication skills reflected in preparation of reports, committee papers or meeting documentation; meticulous attention to detail coupled with methodical problem-solving approaches.
