Business Analyst

This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on, stakeholder-focused Business Analysts who enjoy working in complex environments, driving discovery, defining requirements, and partnering with both business and technology teams to deliver meaningful outcomes.

The opportunity is to join a significant transformation portfolio within a leading education organisation. You will play a critical part in delivering technology initiatives that support business growth, with a particular focus on Higher Education systems including Student Management Systems (SMS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and associated student lifecycle processes.

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for facilitating workshops, gathering and documenting requirements, conducting current-state analysis, and supporting the design of future-state business processes and solutions. You'll work closely with project leaders, process specialists, technology teams and key business stakeholders across multiple transformation initiatives.

Projects:

Business Analyst - Transformation

This role will support a large-scale operating model transformation aimed at harmonising multiple business units into a single, scalable organisation.

You'll work closely with business leaders and the Process Analyst to understand how the organisation currently operates, identify opportunities for improvement, and define future-state business requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops and discovery sessions.
• Conduct current-state analysis across business processes and operating models.
• Gather, analyse and document business requirements.
• Support future-state operating model and process design activities.
• Develop business documentation, procedures and operating frameworks.
• Work closely with transformation leaders to drive successful business change initiatives.
• Assist with business-to-technology translation as future solutions are defined.

This role is ideal for a Business Analyst who enjoys uncovering information, asking the right questions, and bringing structure to complex transformation challenges.

Technical Business Analyst / Systems Analyst - IT Migration

This role will support a major technology and business expansion program, with a focus on Higher Education systems and platforms.

Working as the primary technical-facing BA, you will translate business requirements into detailed artefacts that can be built, configured and tested by technology teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
• Develop process flows, use cases, user stories and functional specifications.
• Work closely with developers, QA teams, SMEs and Project Managers.
• Support solution design, testing and implementation activities.
• Develop and validate test cases, UAT scripts and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered by technology teams.
• Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Technical BA or Systems Analyst with exposure to application delivery, system implementations and technology transformation initiatives.

About You

To be successful in either project, you will bring:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
• Strong requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation skills.
• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to transformation and change initiatives.
• Experience working across both business and technology teams.

Highly Regarded

• Experience within Higher Education or other complex service-based environments.
• Exposure to Student Management Systems (SMS), Learning Management Systems (LMS) or education-focused technologies.
• Experience supporting business transformation, operating model change or technology implementation programs.
• Process mapping and business process improvement experience.
• Knowledge of business analysis frameworks and methodologies.
• Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP, CCBA or Agile BA certifications.
• Experience developing business cases, requirements documentation and operating procedures.
