Project Support Officer
An opportunity is available for an experienced Project Support Officer to join a central procurement and contract management function within a large Queensland Government organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager – Performance, Capability & Governance, the Project Support Officer provides high‑quality administrative and project support across multiple procurement initiatives and programs of work.
You will contribute to system implementations, governance activities, data migration, reporting, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, working closely with project teams and senior officers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end‑to‑end project and administrative support for procurement programs and initiatives
- Prepare government‑standard documentation, including reports, briefs, correspondence, submissions and presentations
- Coordinate meetings and workshops, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking
- Collate, analyse and maintain project performance, financial and status data for reporting
- Support procurement system implementations and process transitions, including data migration activities
- Maintain dashboards, intranet content and project communications
- Provide financial administration support, including invoice processing, register maintenance and reporting
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement across procurement and project support processes
About You
You will bring demonstrated experience as a Support Officer, Project Officer or Administrative Officer within Queensland Government or a comparable public sector environment and be comfortable working within established governance frameworks.
You will demonstrate:
- Strong experience supporting projects and senior stakeholders in a government setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting briefs and reports
- Sound understanding of government processes, policies and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive, collaborative working style with the ability to work independently
- Strong systems capability, including Microsoft Office 365
- Experience with financial or enterprise systems (e.g. SAP or similar)
