CIO
Are you an executive technology leader who knows how to modernise complex platforms, partner with C-suite stakeholders, and drive digital transformation? My client is looking for an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead its technology function and spearhead its next phase of digital evolution.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for the transition from a legacy environment to a modern, cloud-enabled, and AI-ready technology stack while maintaining reliable BAUs, strong cyber resilience, and clear accountability. You'll lead a high performing technology team and work directly with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board to deliver a secure, member centric digital backbone that enables sustainable growth.
The Opportunity
This is a hands on executive leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and execution. You’ll own the future state digital architecture and migration roadmap, transitioning fragmented legacy systems into a simplified, integrated platform. Success will come from your ability to simplify processes, lead complex migrations, establish strong data governance, and foster trusted relationships across the executive team and a highly engaged technology membership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a multi year technology roadmap aligned with growth, membership, and strategic objectives.
- Lead the safe migration from legacy platforms to a contemporary, cloud enabled, and AI ready architecture without compromising service continuity.
- Oversee IT operations, service management, identity and access controls, and user support for members and employees.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity, privacy, and business continuity frameworks are established, independently tested, and maintained.
- Partner with executive peers, business owners, and Product teams to establish strong data governance, system-of-record decisions, and clear priorities.
- Lead technology delivery across engineering, data, integration, and operational teams using disciplined delivery practices.
- Drive commercial rigour across technology budgets, vendor strategy, cloud consumption, licensing, and supplier contracts to realize genuine cost savings.
- Advise the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board, and governance committees on technology strategy, risks, investment trade-offs, and progress.
- Coach, mentor, and build a high performing, collaborative technology function equipped for future state operations.
- Safely evaluate and introduce AI and automation capabilities that deliver measurable value to members and the organisation.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive executive experience leading technology functions and digital transformation within complex, stakeholder rich environments.
- A proven track record of modernising legacy platforms and leading complex cloud migration and decommissioning programs.
- Deep commercial acumen with expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, licensing optimization, and budget stewardship.
- Strong technical credibility across enterprise architecture, data governance, cybersecurity, privacy, and cloud/AI enablement.
- Demonstrated success establishing clear governance, portfolio controls, and measurable benefit realization.
- Outstanding executive leadership, communication, and influence skills, with the ability to engage confidently with CEOs, Boards, and technical communities.
- Strong collaborative mindset focused on business enablement, process simplification, and delivering long-term value for members.
- ACS Membership, or eligibility for membership is required.
