This is a unique opportunity to step into a strategically important role supporting a diverse pipeline of rare disease assets across Australia and New Zealand. The role sits within a lean, collaborative Medical Affairs team and offers the opportunity to help shape medical strategy in an evolving and high-priority therapeutic area with strong long-term investment.
This position would suit someone who is comfortable working in ambiguity, enjoys building structure in less defined environments, and is motivated by meaningful patient impact.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide strategic medical input across a Rare Diseases portfolio across ANZ
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external experts and healthcare professionals
- Engage with patient advocacy groups and support patient-centred initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Regulatory, Market Access, Government Affairs and R&D teams
- Contribute to medical strategy, launch planning and lifecycle management
- Support clinical trial activities, feasibility assessments and real-world evidence generation
- Develop and deliver medical education and scientific content
- Play an active role in shaping the evolution of the rare disease portfolio
About you:
You are a medically trained professional with strong experience in Medical Affairs or clinical practice, ideally within specialty care or rare diseases.
You will likely have:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent; PhD considered)
- 3–5+ years’ experience in Medical Affairs or clinical roles
- Exposure to rare diseases or specialty/complex therapeutic areas (preferred)
- Experience supporting at least one product launch or lifecycle stage
- Strong KOL engagement and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with clinical trials and/or feasibility discussions
- Understanding of medical strategy development and cross-functional collaboration
What success looks like:
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and evolving structures
- Strong collaborator with a team-first mindset (“us over me”)
- Practical, grounded approach - able to make decisions without over-perfectionism
- Confident engaging across global and regional stakeholders
- Able to bring structure, clarity and accountability in a lean environment
- Adaptable to a fast-evolving portfolio with long-term growth potential
This is a highly collaborative and non-hierarchical environment where success comes from initiative, pragmatism, and strong partnership working.
