Senior Cyber Analyst

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with technical specialists to deliver cybersecurity initiatives across the department. This includes defining project scope, developing and managing delivery plans, coordinating stakeholders, overseeing budgets, ensuring compliance with security standards, and delivering outcomes on time.
- Support the development and execution of strategic and operational cybersecurity plans across systems and infrastructure.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging threats, and new technologies, applying insights to assess their value and relevance to departmental systems.
- Represent the department in engagements with government, regulatory, and industry groups, ensuring compliance obligations are met while contributing to broader cybersecurity discussions.
- Translate business needs into technology opportunities, providing advice and recommendations to inform decision-making.
- Build strong partnerships across public sector agencies and engage external stakeholders to share knowledge and adopt best practices.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a proactive and capable professional who brings a combination of technical expertise, project delivery experience, and strong stakeholder engagement skills. You will demonstrate:
- Solid experience in cybersecurity operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Proven ability to successfully deliver complex IT and cybersecurity projects end-to-end
- Strong knowledge of network security, remote access technologies, cloud environments, and 5G security
- Understanding of the ACSC Essential Eight and its implementation in enterprise settings
- Hands-on experience with tools and frameworks such as Microsoft Sentinel, Privileged Access Management, Zero Trust models, SOC operations, and endpoint security solutions
- Familiarity with agile and hybrid project delivery methodologies
- Strong technical understanding of networks and infrastructure
- A track record of delivering outcomes within tight timeframes and budget constraints
- Well-developed financial, procurement, and commercial acumen
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- The ability to review, map, and improve business processes (business analysis capability)
- Strong project management skills with a focus on outcomes, timelines, and deliverables
- The ability to work independently within a small, fast-paced team environment
- Confidence in communication, negotiation, and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Experience working within government environments (essential)
