Senior Dev Ops Engineer

A leading financial organisation in Brisbane are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their talented team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their technology landscape. This opportunity offers you the chance to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of DevOps practices, tooling, and standards across the business. You will be at the forefront of driving secure, automated software delivery through advanced CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Azure DevOps.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of DevOps practices, tooling, and standards throughout the organisation to ensure best-in-class operational excellence.
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines utilising GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Azure DevOps to enable secure, automated software delivery for multiple projects.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring DevOps engineers and supporting broader engineering team members in adopting modern DevOps methodologies.
• Drive infrastructure-as-code adoption, automation strategies, and cloud-first practices across both development and operational environments.
• Partner closely with engineering, architecture, and security teams to embed robust DevSecOps principles into all workflows.
• Ensure platform reliability by monitoring performance, scalability, and availability within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Lead incident response activities including root cause analysis and continuous service improvement initiatives to maintain high service levels.
• Contribute actively to strategic technology decisions by participating in roadmaps and cloud adoption initiatives that shape the organisation’s future direction.
• Engage stakeholders across departments to influence positive change in processes and promote a culture of collaboration.
• Champion continuous learning by sharing knowledge with peers and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can grow.

The ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in a senior or lead DevOps role within large or regulated organisations where you have demonstrated your ability to deliver results collaboratively.
• Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise Cloud including managing repositories, pull requests, implementing security controls, and building CI/CD workflows.
• Extensive experience designing and operating solutions on Microsoft Azure platforms with a focus on reliability and scalability.
• Demonstrated expertise with Azure DevOps including pipeline creation, repository management, work item tracking, and process optimisation.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD concepts as well as infrastructure-as-code approaches using automation tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
• Experience embedding security (DevSecOps), governance frameworks, and compliance requirements into end-to-end DevOps workflows.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills enabling you to influence decisions positively while maintaining harmonious relationships across teams.
• A collaborative mindset coupled with a passion for continuous improvement; you enjoy mentoring others and sharing your expertise openly.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences while being considerate of their perspectives.
