Data Analyst
A leading organisation in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for an exciting six-month temporary assignment based across Brisbane and Ipswich. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a major systems transformation, including the rollout of Snowflake and the integration of a new sales system set to go live in August.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Interpret large volumes of sales and inventory data from multiple sources to provide clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
- Develop, test, and maintain robust data pipelines that support the migration and integration of information into Snowflake and other new systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability throughout the transformation process.
- Analyse existing data structures and recommend improvements that enhance reporting capabilities and operational efficiency.
- Support the go-live process for the new sales system by identifying potential data issues and proactively resolving them before launch.
- Document all processes, methodologies, and findings clearly to facilitate knowledge sharing across teams and future-proof ongoing operations.
- Engage with cross-functional colleagues—including IT, sales, inventory management, and operations—to understand their data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Monitor post-implementation performance of new systems, providing feedback on any anomalies or opportunities for further optimisation.
- Contribute to regular progress updates for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience working as a Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst within manufacturing or related industries where sales and inventory analytics are central responsibilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in interpreting complex datasets from multiple sources with an emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and actionable insight generation.
- Hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines using modern tools; familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud-based platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of database structures, ETL processes, and best practices for integrating disparate systems during periods of organisational change.
- Excellent communication skills enabling you to translate technical findings into accessible reports for non-technical stakeholders across various departments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams while maintaining focus on analytical objectives specific to business needs.
- Track record of documenting processes thoroughly to support knowledge transfer within multi-disciplinary environments.
- Experience supporting system go-lives or major technology rollouts by identifying potential risks in advance and implementing practical solutions.
- Comfortable working onsite full-time across multiple locations (Brisbane CBD/Ipswich) without remote options.
