Network Engineer
We are currently partnering with an Australian bank that is expanding its network services capability. They’re looking for an experienced Network Engineer who enjoys working at scale and has strong exposure across network security, load balancing, cloud connectivity, and structured service delivery. This role sits within a centralised technology function responsible for delivering standardised catalogue‑based network services across the organisation.
The Opportunity
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the delivery and ongoing operation of enterprise network and security services against defined SLAs and KPIs
- Working within a standardised service delivery framework alongside build, run, and tooling teams
- Engaging with stakeholders to confirm requirements and translate them into secure, scalable network solutions
- Providing advanced troubleshooting and operational support across complex network environments
- Contributing to service improvements, technical documentation, and operational playbooks
- Working within established governance and change management processes
What We’re Looking For
Essential experience:
- 5+ years’ experience supporting complex enterprise-scale networks
- Strong expertise in switching and routing (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, VTP)
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise firewalls (e.g. Juniper SRX, FortiGate, NSX)
- Solid exposure to F5 technologies, including LTM, GTM, APM and ASM
- Working knowledge of DNS, PKI / crypto services, and secure networking principles
- Experience operating in cloud networking environments (Azure and/or AWS)
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues in production
- Experience working in environments with clearly defined services, processes, and change controls
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CCNA, JNCIA, F5 201 or equivalent)
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Exposure to network automation and scripting, including tools such as Python or Ansible
- Experience working with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Advanced certifications such as CCNP, F5 301, or similar
- Knowledge of WAN technologies, including SD‑WAN and MPLS
- Familiarity with orchestration or automation platforms
- Experience working in ITIL-aligned environments, including ServiceNow
- Exposure to tools such as Terraform, SolarWinds, Elastic, or MongoDB
- Background contributing across planning, build, implementation, and change activities
