Test Lead

Test Lead, up till June 2027, $94 + super p/h, Brisbane A leading organisation in Brisbane is seeking a Test Lead to champion the delivery of high-quality ICT solutions through expert planning, execution, and oversight of software testing and quality assurance activities.

What you'll do:

• You will own and deliver comprehensive test strategies, approaches, and plans that align with both ISTQB standards and organisational frameworks.
• You will establish governance over test standards, metrics, and reporting to ensure consistency and transparency throughout the testing lifecycle.
• You will define scope, resourcing needs, schedules, environments, dependencies, and risks for each project to guarantee successful test delivery.
• You will produce and maintain high-quality test artefacts including strategies, plans, data requirements, and traceability matrices to support robust testing outcomes.
• You will lead and coordinate system testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) support, and end-to-end testing activities across multiple projects.
• You will approve release readiness by providing informed go-live recommendations based on thorough analysis of test results and risk assessments.
• You will monitor test execution progress closely, manage dependencies and risks proactively, and take corrective action to ensure delivery milestones are consistently achieved.
• You will act as the primary escalation point for any test delivery issues that arise, communicating effectively with stakeholders to resolve challenges promptly.
• You will oversee defect triage processes including prioritisation, resolution tracking, root cause analysis, and closure to maintain high-quality standards.
• You will lead mentoring efforts for test analysts and vendor teams while managing vendor testing services to ensure accountability for quality outcomes.

What you bring:

• Your proven experience includes holding ISTQB® Foundation certification or equivalent qualifications relevant to software testing leadership roles.
• Additional certifications such as ISTQB® Advanced Test Manager (CTAL-TM) or ISTQB® AI Testing (CT-AI) are highly desirable for this position.
• Your strong stakeholder engagement skills enable you to build trust-based relationships with internal teams and external vendors alike.
• Experience managing vendor testing services ensures you can set clear expectations for quality outcomes while fostering effective collaboration.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies—including SCRUM or KANBAN—enables you to adapt quickly within dynamic project environments.
• Expertise in Agile practices such as DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) supports efficient CI/CD implementation.
• Proficiency using test management tools like JIRA, Confluence or Zephyr allows you to streamline collaboration across distributed teams.
• Working knowledge of monitoring tools alongside cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) equips you for modern cloud-based testing scenarios.
• Experience with distributed systems testing demonstrates your ability to handle complex environments requiring advanced problem-solving skills.
• A personal interest in AI-driven testing methods positions you well for future-focused enterprise quality engineering practices.
