Empowering First Nations youth with Souths Cares

Robert Walters is a proud charity partner of Souths Cares, committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth through education, training and employment initiatives.

Proud charity partner of Souths Cares

Empowering the next generation together.

Robert Walters is proud to be a committed charity partner of Souths Cares, a not-for-profit organisation supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth through education, mentoring, training and employment initiatives.

More than a partnership, this collaboration is about creating real, lasting impact. We’re focused on helping young people build confidence, unlock opportunities and thrive in their future careers.

From hosting career workshops in our Sydney office, to upskilling Souths Cares mentors, to raising funds through our annual Charity Day events, we’re proud to stand alongside a program that uplifts communities and transforms futures.

Together, we’re helping build brighter futures, one opportunity at a time.

About Souths Cares

Souths Cares is an independent charity built on the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ proud legacy of community support. Their programs empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and families across New South Wales by addressing key barriers in education, employment, health and wellbeing.

Key programs include:

  • Deadly Youth Mentoring Program:
Six months of intensive support for at-risk Aboriginal youth, focused on education, cultural connection, and positive life choices.
  • Liverpool Opportunity Hub:
Long-term support for students from Year 5 to post-HSC, including mentoring, job readiness training, cultural workshops, and career planning.
  • Nanga Mai Marri (Dream Big):
Helps Aboriginal high school students set and achieve ambitious education and career goals, with strong HSC and post-school outcomes.

Charity Day fundraising

Our annual Robert Walters Charity Day is a key highlight of our partnership with Souths Cares. It’s a day where our team comes together to raise vital funds for community-led programs supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.

Over the past two years, our Sydney team has raised more than $30,000 through fun office challenges, charity auctions, raffles and generous support from our clients. This reflects our commitment to giving back and creating real impact.

2024 Charity Day

Our 2024 Charity Day was another standout moment in our partnership with Souths Cares, raising over $12,000 to support their vital education and employment programs. The day kicked off with a powerful presentation from the Souths Cares team, followed by a Q&A session with former NRL players Rhys Wesser and Daisy Gordon, who reflected on their sporting journeys and community impact.

Highlights included a 200km cycling fundraiser completed by two staff before the event, a chilli eating contest, video game tournaments, mini-golf, and of course, the return of the ever-popular “pie in the face” nominations. The afternoon charity auction and raffle wrapped up another successful day.

2023 Charity Day

Our first Charity Day in support of Souths Cares was a huge success, raising over $18,000 to support their education and employment programs. The day kicked off with an inspiring presentation and Q&A session from Souths Cares mentors Nakia Davis-Welsh, Thomas Johnson, and Angus Robilliard, who shared stories about the impact of grassroots Rugby League and their work supporting Aboriginal youth across NSW.

The Sydney office came alive with South Sydney colours, team fundraising challenges, a passing skills contest, and the ever-popular “pie in the face” nomination station. The day wrapped up with a charity auction and raffle, featuring prizes donated by our generous clients.
