Financial Accountant

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their growing finance team. The position offers flexibility in scope and responsibilities depending on the successful candidate's experience level, making it an excellent opportunity for both established professionals and ambitious emerging accountants.
The Opportunity:
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while partnering with stakeholders across the business. This is a hands-on role with exposure to month-end reporting, financial analysis, business partnering, process improvement initiatives, and budgeting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Month End Activities:
- Prepare and complete month-end reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting requirements accurately and within deadlines.
- Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and cleared monthly.
- Process and review journals within required reporting timeframes.
- Validate financial data and ensure accuracy of postings into the general ledger.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and variance analysis.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries across the business.
- Review and discuss financial results with relevant commercial stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across finance and operational teams.
- Provide support and guidance to junior finance team members where required.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:
- Participate in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Assist in identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through financial analysis.
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies, inaccuracies, and anomalies.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within finance operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail and commitment to reporting deadlines.
- Promote a safe, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.
About You:
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification (desirable).
- Experience in financial accounting, month-end reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
