Treasury Accountant
On behalf of Pernod Ricard, we are seeking a Treasury Accountant to join their Finance team in Sydney. What you'll do:
- Assist in preparing monthly cash flow reports and quarterly rolling forecasts, ensuring all required appendices are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor daily cash positions against targets, collaborating with business units to improve forecast accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the preparation of detailed three-month liquidity forecasts on a daily basis, feeding into broader reporting requirements and informing loan or borrowing decisions.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly liquidity position reports and variance analysis between forecasted and actual results.
- Download and distribute daily bank statements as needed, determining daily cash requirements alongside the Treasury Manager and arranging appropriate funding through internal systems.
- Maintain accurate records of group loans and borrowings in the general ledger, including interest calculations, while preparing necessary reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheets.
- Purchase foreign exchange as required for company employees travelling abroad, ensuring compliance with approved processes via the expense management system.
- Prepare general ledger journal entries related to treasury activities and ensure receivable sale notices are issued according to agreed schedules.
- Coordinate intercompany transactions by entering data into the netting system, liaising with group companies for invoice copies, and reconciling all entries efficiently.
- Participate actively in health, safety, quality, and compliance initiatives by adhering to company policies, supporting corporate social responsibility activities, and fostering a respectful workplace.
What you bring:
- Experience gained either within a chartered accounting firm or the finance department of a large corporate organisation provides you with robust technical foundations.
- Progress towards or current membership of an internationally recognised accounting body demonstrates your commitment to professional development.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline equip you with essential theoretical knowledge.
- Exposure to banking or treasury functions enables you to navigate complex financial environments confidently.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards ensures seamless integration into existing systems; experience with Power BI or RPA tools is highly regarded.
- Intermediate spreadsheeting skills using Excel allow you to analyse data efficiently; familiarity with Tagetik is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills support effective collaboration across teams and geographies.
- A keen eye for detail combined with high levels of accuracy ensures integrity across all reconciliations and reporting activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while remaining organised reflects your dependability during peak periods or tight deadlines.
- A self-motivated approach paired with logical thinking helps you solve problems efficiently while upholding accountability.
