Senior Payroll Officer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll operations across Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa in partnership with outsourced payroll providers. This role is responsible for payroll processing, compliance, statutory reporting, reconciliations, and stakeholder support. The successful candidate will have strong payroll legislation knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment while driving process improvements and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance
Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll processing across Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa in partnership with outsourced payroll providers.

Ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions, validations, approvals, and employee payments.

Coordinate payroll onboarding for new employees and contractors, maintaining high levels of data accuracy and integrity.

Prepare payroll reconciliations, journals, statutory reporting, and compliance documentation.

Ensure compliance with employment legislation, payroll tax requirements, superannuation obligations, and relevant regulatory frameworks.

Act as the primary point of contact for payroll enquiries, resolving complex issues relating to pay, leave, taxation, and superannuation.

Deliver regular payroll and workforce reports, including headcount, leave balances, and financial reporting requirements.

Support month-end activities, audits, and payroll-related financial analysis in collaboration with the Finance team.

Identify and implement payroll process improvements, driving efficiency, standardisation, and automation opportunities.

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external providers, and global teams to ensure exceptional payroll service delivery.
About You

Minimum 4 years' payroll experience, ideally within a multi-entity or outsourced payroll environment.

Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance, and statutory reporting requirements.

Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations, reporting, and pivot tables.

Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
