Risk & Compliance Analyst
We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation seeking a Risk & Compliance Analyst to join its first-line risk function. This is an excellent opportunity for a risk professional looking to broaden their exposure across operational risk, project risk, governance, controls, and compliance within a dynamic and highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify and assess risks associated with projects, business changes, and operational activities.
- Analyse processes and controls to identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen the control environment.
- Conduct deep-dive reviews into higher-risk areas and provide practical recommendations to management.
- Support the delivery of first-line risk and compliance activities across the business.
- Prepare high-quality risk and compliance reporting for management, committees, and governance forums.
- Coordinate cyclical risk management activities, including risk assessments, control reviews, incident management, and compliance monitoring.
- Liaise with second-line risk and compliance teams, as well as internal audit, to support consistent application of risk frameworks and governance requirements.
- Assist with control testing activities and provide insights into control effectiveness.
- Contribute to the implementation and embedding of risk management frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Monitor industry and regulatory developments and assess potential impacts on the business.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 3–5+ years' experience in risk management, compliance, governance, legal, audit, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting or advising on risk within project, transformation, or change initiatives.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, compliance, governance, and internal controls.
- Experience preparing risk reports and presenting insights to senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify emerging risks and trends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and pragmatically.
- The ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Law, Risk Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to insurance, broking, financial services, banking, or other regulated industries.
- Experience with control testing, audit, incident management, or regulatory compliance programs.
- Knowledge of contemporary risk management frameworks and governance practices.
