Fund Accountant

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Fund Accountant to join a specialist investment manager and play a key role across its growing suite of investment funds. This is a broad, hands-on position covering fund accounting, NAV and unit pricing, performance reporting, investor administration, audit and tax. You’ll work closely with the investment and operations teams while having genuine exposure to new fund launches and future investment structures.

This is an opportunity to join a specialist investment manager where you’ll have broad ownership across the fund accounting and administration lifecycle. Working closely with the Head of Funds Management, Operations and Investment teams, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the accurate and timely operation of the firm’s growing fund platform.

You’ll work across existing funds while also having exposure to new fund launches and future investment structures, giving you the opportunity to build on your technical fund accounting experience and broaden your understanding of investment operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee external fund accountants and ensure accurate processing of fund transactions
• Manage day-to-day fund accounting, transaction settlements and cash management
• Prepare trade transaction reporting and reconcile against custodian and broker records
• Calculate and review monthly NAV and unit prices in line with fund constitutions and pricing policies
• Build and maintain NAV and unit pricing models and workbooks
• Prepare fund performance reporting and attribution analysis for internal and investor use
• Support performance reviews against investment benchmarks and mandates
• Manage registry and investor administration, including applications, redemptions and unit holder records
• Liaise with external registry providers, custodians and fund service providers
• Assist with annual audits, including preparation of working papers and auditor queries
• Support distribution calculations and investor reporting
• Oversee tax and regulatory reporting, including AIIR, QTFN and AMMA statements
• Monitor fund compliance from an accounting perspective, including investment mandates and constitutional limits
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks and reporting issues
• Support the establishment and launch of new funds, including opening balances, chart of accounts and reporting structures

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years’ experience within fund accounting
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CA/CPA qualification highly regarded
• Strong understanding of NAV and unit pricing
• Experience building or maintaining unit pricing models
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent attention to detail with strong commercial judgement
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines across a diverse fund portfolio
• Confident communicator who can work effectively with investment teams and external stakeholders
