Vice President, Loan Operations
An opportunity to join the Sydney office of an international bank as Vice President of Credit Administration. You will oversee credit administration and loan operations, with responsibility for loan documentation, credit monitoring, covenant compliance and operational controls. This is a senior position offering the opportunity to develop and structure a growing team, with a longer-term pathway towards Head of Department.
Our client is an international bank with an established presence in Australia, operating its sole Australian office from Sydney. With a growing operations function, they are looking to appoint a Vice President of Credit Administration to take ownership of the credit administration and loan operations function. This is a senior position offering the opportunity to shape the team structure, develop existing capabilities and potentially progress into a Head of Team position.
Reporting into senior management, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Credit Administration team, providing operational guidance, reviewing work and ensuring the accurate and timely execution of credit administration responsibilities. Key responsibilities will include reviewing loan and security documentation, interpreting credit approvals and facility agreements, monitoring financial covenants and credit conditions, and overseeing portfolio monitoring and management reporting. You will also manage exceptions, overdue reviews, documentation deficiencies and liaise closely with Relationship Managers, internal stakeholders and external parties to ensure appropriate controls are maintained.
We are looking for someone with 6+ years' experience within wholesale banking, ideally across Credit Administration, Credit Control or Loan Operations, with exposure to bilateral and syndicated lending. You will have strong technical knowledge of loan and security documentation, an ability to interpret credit approvals and understand how facility terms translate into legal documentation, alongside experience in covenant monitoring, credit reviews and management reporting. Previous experience reviewing legal documentation and working closely with Relationship Managers will be highly regarded.
Leadership experience is desirable, although the opportunity is also suited to someone ready to take the next step into a broader leadership position. We are looking for someone with a proactive attitude, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in coaching and developing others. The ability to improve processes, take ownership and encourage a team to grow will be key to success.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
