Collections Specialist
A leading energy provider is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their Melbourne-based team, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact on both customer experience and organisational financial stability. * 6 month fixed term contract. * Hybrid, with a conveniently based office in the Melbourne CBD.
What you'll do:
As a Collections Specialist based in Melbourne, you will play an integral role in managing overdue accounts while ensuring each customer interaction is handled with empathy and professionalism.
- Manage high-priority and complex overdue customer accounts by implementing effective debt recovery strategies that minimise bad debt while upholding exceptional service standards.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach during all collections interactions, resolving disputes professionally and empathetically to enhance satisfaction and reduce escalated complaints.
- Ensure all collections activities strictly adhere to relevant industry regulations and internal policies, including those specific to the energy sector, thereby minimising regulatory risk.
What you bring:
To excel as a Collections Specialist in this Melbourne-based role, your background should include hands-on experience managing overdue accounts, ideally within an energy retail or similarly regulated sector, where compliance is paramount.
- Demonstrated experience in managing overdue accounts within a regulated industry environment, ideally in energy retail or utilities.
- Exceptional communication skills that enable you to negotiate effectively while maintaining empathy towards customers facing payment difficulties.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent organisational abilities that allow you to manage multiple accounts simultaneously without compromising accuracy.
