What you'll do:

As Project Director – Connectivity Infrastructure you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital connectivity by overseeing the entire lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams both internally and externally to drive the successful execution of complex initiatives such as subsea cable systems and terrestrial fibre networks. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive strategies that guide projects from initial concept through planning stages into design, construction and operational handover. By fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement among your team members you will ensure that every aspect of project delivery meets stringent safety standards while remaining commercially viable. Your ability to engage effectively with government agencies, regulators and industry partners will be crucial in managing stakeholder expectations and resolving complex issues promptly. • Provide overall leadership and accountability for the successful delivery of complex connectivity infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle, from concept through operational handover.
• Develop and implement robust project strategies, execution plans, governance frameworks and methodologies to ensure safe, timely and commercially sound outcomes.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams comprising internal staff, consultants, contractors and specialist advisors to achieve ambitious project objectives.
• Oversee comprehensive project controls including scope management, scheduling, cost control, risk mitigation, quality assurance and change management processes.
• Drive feasibility studies, business case development, option analysis and detailed project planning activities to support strategic decision-making.
• Define clear project scope, objectives, technical requirements and delivery strategies that align with organisational goals and future connectivity needs.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, resilience and sustainability within project delivery frameworks.
• Manage all aspects of commercial and financial performance including budget development, forecasting, procurement strategies, contract negotiations and administration.
• Build effective relationships with government authorities, regulators, utility providers, landowners, industry partners and community stakeholders through proactive communication.
• Provide strategic oversight of engineering design, construction activities, testing protocols and commissioning processes to ensure compliance with technical standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or Infrastructure Management or related discipline is required for this role.
• Significant senior-level experience leading large-scale infrastructure or connectivity projects from inception through completion is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex multidisciplinary teams as well as multiple external stakeholders across diverse environments.
• Strong technical expertise combined with commercial acumen including contractual negotiation skills and risk management proficiency.
• Experience working directly with government agencies regulators utility providers landowners industry partners customers or community stakeholders is highly desirable.
• Proven track record in programme governance infrastructure development delivery stakeholder engagement negotiation contract procurement management risk assessment problem solving executive communication influencing.
• Experience in long-haul submarine cable systems deployment within South-East Asia region would be advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with AI Datacenter environment deployment high fibre count network integration would be considered a plus.
