Payroll Configuration & Compliance Specialist

This is not a payroll processing role. This is an opportunity to join a major workforce management and payroll compliance transformation and become the technical specialist behind one of the organisation's most critical systems.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys configuration, testing, troubleshooting and solving complex payroll-rule challenges. You'll work at the intersection of payroll, compliance and workforce management, ensuring employees are paid correctly and systems are configured accurately.

The Opportunity

Working within a specialist Workforce Management team, you'll play a key role in reviewing, configuring and validating complex payroll and work rules within UKG Dimensions (Kronos).

You'll be involved in major compliance initiatives, payroll testing, system optimisation and the implementation of new workforce management tools, working alongside experienced internal SMEs and external consultants.

This is a highly visible role where your expertise will directly influence payroll accuracy, compliance outcomes and operational performance.

What You'll Be Doing

• Configure and maintain pay rules and work rules within UKG Dimensions (Kronos)
• Build and execute payroll testing scenarios
• Validate payroll outcomes against awards, policies and compliance requirements
• Investigate payroll anomalies and perform root-cause analysis
• Troubleshoot workforce management system issues and configuration defects
• Support payroll compliance and remediation initiatives
• Test enhancements, upgrades and system changes
• Partner with Payroll, Compliance and Workforce Management teams to drive continuous improvement
• Help build internal capability and become a subject matter expert within the platform

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Hands-on UKG Dimensions, UKG Pro WFM or Kronos experience
• Experience configuring payroll rules, work rules or workforce management rules
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and payroll calculations
• Experience testing and validating payroll outcomes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to investigate issues, identify causes and implement solutions
• A genuine interest in systems, configuration and continuous learning

Highly Regarded

• Payroll compliance experience
• Award interpretation knowledge
• Workforce Management (WFM) expertise
• BOOT assessment exposure
• SAP Payroll, SAP Employee Central or SuccessFactors experience
• Experience within a complex, multi-site environment
