Introduction
We helped an insurance provider move from slow, manual claims reporting to a real-time, automated data platform. This transformed the speed and confidence of business decision-making.
The challenge
The organisation had no clear or timely view of claims performance. Data was held across multiple systems and pulled together manually each month by finance and claims teams. This made reporting slow, inconsistent, and unreliable. Business leaders were making decisions based on outdated information. Significant time was being lost each month to data reconciliation. The business wanted to shift to a more data-driven approach but lacked the internal capability to get there.
The solution
We assessed the current reporting landscape and identified the key gaps and inefficiencies. Working with the claims, finance, and IT teams, we mapped data sources, agreed consistent definitions, and cleansed data across systems. We then built a suite of automated Power BI dashboards, replacing manual monthly reports. This gave teams real-time visibility of claims performance. We also supported internal teams in adopting the new dashboards, delivering training sessions and user guidance to embed the change.

Monthly reporting time was reduced by 60%. This delivered an estimated AU$190k-plus in operational savings in year one through the elimination of manual reporting and improved data accuracy. Business leaders now have real-time access to claims data, improving the speed and confidence of decision-making. Data inconsistencies were substantially reduced following the introduction of agreed definitions and a single source of truth. The organisation now has a scalable reporting framework that can be extended to other areas of the business.
