Legal Counsel - Corporate/Commercial

You will be joining a market leading financial services company as a generalist legal counsel with a corporate and/or commercial law background in Brisbane working with a collaborative and friendly team with excellent mentoring.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide legal advice to the business and customers on contracts, compliance, and risk management.
• Draft, negotiate, and review various contracts, including professional services, IT, employment and commercial agreements.
• Develop and update legal templates, policies, and processes to support business operations.
• Monitor legal and compliance risks, assisting in mitigation strategies with the General Counsel.
• Manage external legal counsel and support claims, litigation, and investigations as needed.
• Maintain governance policies, statutory records, and regulatory compliance reporting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration.

About You

You have:

• 2-5PQE with relevant legal qualifications and unrestricted practising certificate
• Strong experience with commercial contracts and/or employment contracts
