Paralegal
Join a well-established boutique legal practice in Leederville as a Property Paralegal, supporting a busy commercial property practice. You’ll take ownership of Landgate submissions, PPSR registrations, property finalisations, commercial lease drafting and transaction documentation. Ideal for an experienced property paralegal who enjoys autonomy, technical work and working closely with lawyers and clients in a supportive, close-knit team.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Property Paralegal to join a well-established boutique legal practice based in Leederville.
Working closely with experienced lawyers, you will provide high-level paralegal support across a range of commercial property matters and transactions. This is a hands-on role offering genuine responsibility and autonomy and would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work rather than operating in a traditional Legal Assistant capacity.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical property experience and be comfortable managing documentation, registrations, finalisations and key transaction requirements with accuracy and minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, lodging and managing Landgate submissions and documentation
- Completing PPSR registrations, searches and associated documentation
- Coordinating and assisting with property transaction finalisations and settlements
- Drafting and preparing commercial leases, variations, extensions and associated documentation
- Preparing property-related legal documents, correspondence and transaction documentation
- Reviewing documentation and ensuring all required information is accurate and complete
- Managing key dates, deadlines and transaction milestones
- Maintaining accurate and organised electronic matter files
- Liaising directly with clients, government bodies and other external stakeholders
- Following up outstanding documentation and progressing matters through to completion
- Providing high-level paralegal support to lawyers across the commercial property practice
- Taking ownership of allocated matters and proactively identifying next steps
- Assisting with general commercial matters where required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Property Paralegal, Senior Legal Assistant or Legal Executive within a property or commercial property practice
- Strong practical knowledge of commercial property transactions
- Experience with Landgate processes and submissions
- Experience completing PPSR registrations and searches
- Exposure to property settlements and transaction finalisations
- Demonstrated experience drafting commercial leases and associated documents
- The ability to confidently manage tasks and matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Strong written communication and document preparation skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Confidence communicating directly with clients and external stakeholders
- A proactive approach and willingness to take genuine ownership of your work
This role is particularly suited to an experienced paralegal who operates with a level of technical capability and independence approaching that of a junior lawyer, without necessarily holding a legal practising qualification.
The Team
You will join a close-knit boutique legal practice where collaboration, professionalism and cultural fit are highly valued. The team is looking for someone who can become a trusted long-term member of the practice, build strong working relationships and contribute positively to the wider office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property paralegal looking to move beyond traditional administrative legal support and into a role offering greater technical responsibility, autonomy and ownership of property matters.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
