About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Design Interface Engineer to join a leading Defence organisation supporting complex naval programs. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring mission-critical systems are reliable, maintainable and supportable throughout their lifecycle. This position offers exposure to high-profile Defence projects, working across Systems Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Reliability Engineering and Sustainment.

Key Responsibilities

As the Design Interface Engineer, you will:

• Act as the engineering interface between Systems Engineering, Design, ILS, Safety, Logistics and Verification & Validation teams.
• Ensure supportability requirements are embedded into system design throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
• Conduct and support Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Integrated Product Support (IPS) engineering activities.
• Develop and review supportability analyses including RAM, FMECA, LORA, RCM and Maintenance Task Analysis where required.
• Support engineering change activities, configuration management and lifecycle improvements.
• Contribute to Verification & Validation (V&V), testing and Introduction Into Service (IIS) activities.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve system availability, maintainability and reliability.
• Assist in the development of technical documentation, supportability artefacts and Defence deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, technical investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support ongoing sustainment activities and whole-of-life asset management.

Skills & Experience

To be successful, you will ideally possess:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience within Defence, Aerospace, Maritime, Naval or another complex engineering environment.
• Background in Systems Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Integrated Product Support (IPS) or Supportability Engineering.
• Experience with Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) engineering or related analysis.
• Exposure to tools and methodologies such as FMECA, LORA, LSAR, RCM or Maintenance Task Analysis.
• Understanding of Defence acquisition, sustainment and lifecycle engineering principles.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
