About the Role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Recycling Operations Lead to join the Brisbane-based team. Reporting to the Recycling Operations Manager, this role supports the coordination, administration, and performance monitoring of COEX’s recycling network, including Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), bottle crushers, processors and recyclers.
You will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and compliant execution of scheme activities through data analysis, claims processing, reporting, and operational coordination, while contributing to continuous improvement across the network.
This role will also involve some travel across Queensland and interstate, as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and process claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements
- Analyse operational data and trends to improve recycling and recovery outcomes
- Develop and maintain reporting tools, including Excel and Power BI dashboards
- Monitor costs and budgets, identifying and escalating variances
- Coordinate waste audits and analyse findings to support process improvements
- Maintain accurate operational, financial, and contract records
- Support contract administration, onboarding, and compliance reporting
- Provide first-line support to stakeholders on systems and reporting queries
- Coordinate across internal teams to support logistics and operational needs
- Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives
About You
You will bring strong analytical and operational capability, with experience working across data, finance, or operational environments.
Key requirements include:
- 2–5 years’ experience in operations, administration, data, or coordination roles
- Experience in waste, recycling, logistics, or similar environments (desirable)
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI and the broader MS Office suite
- Experience working with data, reporting, or claims processing
- Strong administrative and coordination capability across multiple systems
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment
- A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach
- A current driver’s licence and an ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal history check
- Formal qualifications in business, data analytics, environmental science, or a related field will be highly regarded
