Principal Business Analyst

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Principal Business Analyst to play a key role in supporting the delivery of a major international sporting event in Brisbane. Working within a high-profile program environment, you will help drive data-led decision-making, governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across complex projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and analyse large datasets relating to performance, commitments, benefits, risks, and outcomes.
• Gather, document, and translate business requirements into system and functional specifications.
• Conduct business and systems analysis to identify process improvements and solution opportunities.
• Lead testing activities, including test planning and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Develop reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI to support informed decision-making.
• Support governance, risk management, compliance, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

About You

• Extensive business analysis experience within large, complex programs, ideally across government, infrastructure, or major projects.
• Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience managing and reporting on complex datasets.
• Proven knowledge of business process analysis, systems implementation, and testing methodologies.
• Strong reporting and governance experience, including risk and performance monitoring.
• Proficiency in Power BI and information management practices.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
