Change Lead
* Major non-for-profit healthcare organisation * Melbourne based, Hybrid working * 15 month FTC with strong potential for extension
A leading not-for-profit healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Change Lead to deliver a complex, organisation-wide behavioural transformation across a large, unionised workforce. This role offers the opportunity to influence how critical front line teams adopt new ways of working at scale, within an environment where success is driven by people, behaviours and organisational alignment rather than technology alone.
The position sits at the centre of a major enterprise roll out of a rostering and workforce management solution impacting 10,000+ end users across aged care and hospital settings. While the technology is significant, the primary focus is on engaging clinicians and operational teams with established, localised ways of working, within a complex landscape. This role requires a strong ability to manage resistance, influence diverse stakeholders, and embed sustainable behavioural change.
You will join at a pivotal stage as the organisation refines its approach to change following a previous transformation. With design and build nearing completion, the focus will be on ensuring a structured and outcome-driven transition from delivery through to adoption and BAU. This environment requires a disciplined, pragmatic and business-focused approach to change leadership.
What you'll do:
As Change Lead, you will own the behavioural change strategy for a large-scale workforce transformation, partnering closely with operational leaders and front line teams to support adoption and long-term sustainability.
- Lead end-to-end change strategy for a large-scale rostering and workforce transformation programme impacting 10,000+ users
- Drive a strong behavioural change focus, influencing ways of working beyond system adoption
- Partner with clinical, operational, and corporate stakeholders across a unionised workforce to build alignment and engagement
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments, addressing resistance and fostering accountability
- Develop robust change impact assessments aligned to measurable business outcomes
- Strengthen change practices between system delivery and training to improve adoption outcomes
- Collaborate with communications and training teams to deliver targeted interventions
- Measure change effectiveness through quantifiable metrics, including productivity and system utilisation
- Support transition from implementation to post-go-live stabilisation and BAU
What you bring:
You are an experienced Change professional with a demonstrated ability to lead behavioural transformation in large, complex environments, with a strong focus on outcomes and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale change impacting thousands of end users
- Expertise in behavioural change and adoption, with the ability to influence established ways of working
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, including experience with unionised work forces
- Ability to operate as an embedded business partner, not a standalone function
- Practical understanding of change methodologies, applied flexibly to suit the environment
- Experience with ERP, HR, or workforce/rostering systems (desirable)
- Clear, concise communication style with strong influencing skills
- Experience supporting post-go-live transition and sustained adoption
- Ability to measure success using defined, data-driven outcomes
What sets this opportunity apart:
This organisation offers a purpose-driven environment where change directly impacts patient and resident outcomes. You will contribute to a significant transformation focused on improving fairness, consistency, and transparency in workforce practices.
- Play a key role in a high-impact healthcare transformation
- Shape and embed an uplifted approach to change management
- Operate in a collaborative environment with strong executive visibility
- Opportunity to progress into a broader Head of Change remit over time
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
